Vipers Add Zablocki from WHL
January 10, 2019
Vernon, BC: Ahead of the 3pm BCHL Trade Deadline, the Vernon Vipers added Zablocki from the Western Hockey League.
Vernon has added 20 year old forward Lane Zablocki from the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL. Zablocki is a 3rd round pick of the Detroit Red Wings and has played in 22 games with the Rockets this season registering 4 goals and 8 assists.
“We felt with the trouble we’ve had scoring, the addition of Lane will really help fill that void,” Ferner says. “He’s a proven scorer that we feel will come in and make a big impact.”
The Vipers would like to welcome Will and Lane to the Vipers and wish Mitch all the best in Chilliwack.
The Vipers face the Salmon Arm Silverbacks tomorrow night at 7pm at Kal Tire Place.

I like the addition of a veteran 20 yr old Western Hockey leaguer but I don't like that he played with four different teams in the Western Hockey League this year (Red Deer, Lethbridge, Victoria & Kelowna). I like his size and major junior experience. It sounds like the Rockets were hesitant on letting him go but had to make the move to acquire another veteran 20 yr old. Will he be in the lineup Friday vs Salmon Arm? Looking forward to seeing his Vipers debut and seeing what he will bring to the Vipers lineup. This will make up for the roster spot of Alex Swetlikoff who left the Vipers for the Kelowna Rockets.
