Vernon Vipers Alumni Finlay Named NCHC Player Of The Week:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Liam Finlay was named the NCHC Player of the week.

Finlay is in his third season with the University of Denver, played parts of two years in Vernon (2014-2016) after coming over in a trade with the Penticton Vees. In 96 games with the Vipers Finlay collected (39-goals-69-assists-109-points).

Finlay, Ward Named NCHC Players of the Week

Men's Ice Hockey 1/7/2019

DENVER – Denver Pioneers men's hockey junior forward Liam Finlay and freshman forward Tyler Ward have been named NCHC Forward and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for Dec. 24 – Jan. 6, the NCHC announced on Monday.  
 
In four games, Finlay paced the NCHC with six points (2-4-6) and two power-play points. The Kelowna, B.C. native scored the Pioneers' game-winning goal on Dec. 28 at Merrimack, then played an integral role in Denver's sweep of Wisconsin on Jan. 4-5 with one goal and four assists in the non-conference series. In addition to his conference-leading point totals, Finlay fired nine shots and logged a +3 plus/minus rating.  
 
Ward led NCHC freshmen with two goals and two assists in the four-game stretch. The Kamloops, B.C. native scored in both of Denver's games against Wisconsin, notching the game-winner on Jan. 5. Ward had a +3 rating and nine shots during the stretch.
