Yes, I agree, a real joke!!! He makes a clean hit, and then is forced to defend himself. If he had been the instigator I think the rule must be applied as stated but in a case like this consideration should be given to why he was even engaged in the fight. Vernon should appeal and see if the rule can be applied & resulting suspension a bit more fairly. Doubt if common sense will prevail at BCHL office though.
I agree with the previous comment....what's he supposed to do?
What happens after this 4 game suspension....is he not allowed anymore fighting majors for the rest of the season, or does he get to have another 5 more majors before suspension again?
Confusing and stupid.
He was very handy to have in the Langley game and an important part of the team in that regard. I like that he sticks up for his mates.
Kelly is a good hockey player. He has the skill, he has the size and he has what most NHL scouts are looking for. But years ago we had another skilled hockey player with all that it would take to make the NHL But he had a temper with a fuse on it that could be blown at anytime. The scouts I talked to said , although he has what we want he is a walking timebomb and for that reason he is uncontrollable with his temper which could go off at anytime . So thus he was forgotten because it was felt he as a team player could be more of a loser rather than a winner. My hope is Kelly controls these feelings of rage and helps the team more, Go, Vipers, GO.
It says on the BCHL site that he got 1 game. He should have been given a 5 min hit to the head. Before you start screaming look at the replay. Not Tyson best weekend. My question is what happens if he gets a major for hit and a fight on the same play in the playoffs? How many games does he get then?

Didn't know this rule existed?
