The American Hockey League Stockton Heat have released former Vernon Vipers defenceman Tyson Strachan.
Strachan was invited to the Arizona Coyotes training camp was released from camp September 24th 2017.
Strachan played last season with the American Hockey League Rochester Americans.
After four years at Ohio State University Strachan has played the past ten seasons with twelve teams in three leagues (Albany River Rats, Las Vegas Wranglers, Peoria Rivermen, St. Louis Blues, Florida Panthers, San Antonio Rampage, Washington Capitals, Hershey Bears, Buffalo Sabres, Minnesota Wild, Iowa Wild & Rochester Americans).
Strachan played one season in Vernon (2002-03) collecting (6-goals-22-assists-28-points) in 56 regular season games with the Vipers.
Strachan was drafted by Carolina in the 5th Round (137th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Flames and Heat Announce Roster Moves

Stockton, Calif. – The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned two players to their American Hockey League affiliate: Rasmus Andersson (RD) and Jon Gillies (G).
The Flames have also placed forwards Garnet Hathaway and Luke Gazdic on waivers.
The Heat have released J.T. Barnett, Mark Cooper, Troy Donnay, Carson Dubchak, Joel Lowry, Tyson Strachan and Cliff Watson from their tryouts.
Calgary has 25 players remaining at training camp (2x goalies, 7x defensemen, 16x forwards). These numbers don’t include injured players Dan Pribyl and Marek Hrivik. With the additions of Gillies and Andersson, Stockton has 28 players remaining at training camp (4x goalies, 9x defenseman, 15x forwards).
