I watched tonight's game online. I love the new camera angles and instant replays added to the Smoke Eaters broadcast this year.

The Vipers looked like they were the better team overall. The Smoke Eaters had some good chances-pressure at times couldn't solve Anthony Yamnitsky who was making his third straight start in goal. I thought Trail had good pressure early in the 3rd before losing a bit of jump after Vernon's third goal. Both goaltenders looked strong between the pipes, Tanner Campbell made several big stops keeping the Smokies in the contest. Great to see a big crowd, it looked more like a playoff type crowd. I have watched Viper games online in years past and I've never seen a crowd like this for a regular season game, great job Trail! Love the new additions to the Cominco arena.

Tonight was a huge game for both teams, who both were coming off losses and playing their second game in three days. With the win the Snakes pass Trail taking over top spot in the Interior Division and overall. The Smokies fall to 2nd place are just three points up on Wenatchee. The Wild & Vees both win tonight, are climbing the standings quickly and making a run for 1st place.

The Vipers improve to 18-6-0-4 while Trail falls to 19-7-1-0
