Viper Fans Should Be Ashamed!

Just over 1,200 people showed up to watch the Spruce Grove Saints defeat the Vernon Vipers 5-2 in their final home game of the season tonight. I was very disapointed with the very small, actually pathetic crowd on hand to watch several Vipers play their final home game as a Viper in Vernon. Some of the excuses were it's a Sunday night, others said the Canucks are on tv... Its pretty sad that the City of Vernon and their so called hockey fans cant come out and support one of if not the best Junoir Hockey team in Canada. What does Duncan Wray have to do to get people to come out to watch some real good Junior hockey. Duncan and the Vipers put out a winning team, year after year and the city of Vernon cant support these young kids. I understand some families who have kids cant afford to come out to all three games over the weekend, but you think a city like the size of Vernon could atleast get 2,500 plus each and every home game, especially for the Doyle Cup and the final home game of the season. Pretty pathetic if you ask me! On this note, Id like to take this time to thank the Vernon Vipers, the coaching staff and the entire organization on a great season and wish you all the best in Spruce Grove. Go Vipers Go!!
