The Vernon Canadians were one of seven different team names Vernon's junior hockey team has had since joining the league in 1961. The Vernon Canadians were around for 1978-79 season, took a leave of absence for the 1979-80 season, before re-joining the league as the Vernon Lakers for the 1980-81 season.
