Atlanta Gladiators Release Former Viper AP Scardina:

The ECHL Atlanta Gladiators have released former Vernon Vipers

forward/affiliated player Ethan Scardina.

The ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League) is a minor professional ice hockey league based in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, with teams across the United States and Canada. Competitively, it is a tier below the American Hockey League (AHL). The league serves as a farm system to the AHL and the National Hockey League (NHL).

Scardina was released one day before the final 2025-26 regular season ended. The Gladiators open the first round of the ECHL Playoffs vs the South Carolina Stingrays in the South Division semifinals. 

Scardina was in his first season with the ECHL Atlanta Gladiators. The Gladiators signed Scardina September 2nd 2025. In 65 games, Scardina collected (3-goals-6-assists-9-points). 

Scardina played the past five seasons at Bowling Green State University from 2020-2025.

Scardina played one game as an affiliated player with the 2016-17 Vernon Vipers before committing to the Cowichan Capitals for the 2017-18 season.
