The Vernon Vipers improve to 4-1-0-0 after a 5-4 overtime victory over the 2-4-1-0 Chilliwack Chiefs in front of 2,022 fans at the Chilliwack Coliseum.
I was unable to watch tonight's game as I was with family for our Thanksgiving Dinner this evening. A big win on the road for a Vipers team that has won four straight games, after losing the opening game of the regular season. Shots were 35-19 for the Chiefs. Did anyone else listen to the game on the radio or watch the game on Flo Hockey?
I watched the game last night on flo hockey. I didn't think they played as well as they did Friday night. They seemed tired. I thought that Friday night they played a more aggressive style than they did on Saturday so maybe they were just tired. Or maybe chili played hard, not wanting yet another loss. They had some trouble clearing their end. They also had trouble getting shots on goal - probably due to a lack of zone time and also their shots being blocked. What did impress me was their ability to bury the shots they did get. Looking at their stats vs this time last year, I see a much improved team. They have talent. They have some speed. They seem to have drive. A good combination in my opinion. With the game being so close in score, there was excitement. Glad I watched and am very hopeful for this years team.
On a side note. Did anyone else notice that the roster is down to 23. Liam's parker and Walker gelbart are no longer listed. Guess the wanted to beat the September 30th deadline.
