Rogers Sportsnet ran a story in October on former Vernon Lakers/Vipers defenceman Blaine McCauley's brother Wes.
Wes McCauley is a well known NHL official that has made the highlight reel of several sports shows.
Blaine McCauley played two seasons in Vernon with the 1994-95 Vernon Lakers and the 1995-96 Royal Bank Cup Champion Vernon Vipers. In 115 games with the Lakers & Vipers, McCauley collected (26-goals-79-assists-105-points). After four years at Lake Superior State University, McCauley went on to play two seasons in the ECHL and American Hockey League with the Dayton Bombers, Cleveland Barons and Syracuse Crunch from 2000-2002. McCauley was an assistant coach with the 2005-06 Ontario Junior Hockey League Georgetown Raiders & is now the head coach/gm of the NLL Arena Lacrosse League Toronto Monarchs. McCauley was named coach of the year in 2018.
