New Recruit – Reagan Milburn

June 15, 2020

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the commitment of Reagan Milburn.

Milburn is from Kamloops and played last season with the Thompson Blazers of the BCMML.  He led his team in scoring last season with 24 goals and 27 assists in 38 games played.

“Reagan is a young and dependable forward that we are very excited about adding,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.

Milburn played 4 games with the Vipers last season as an AP.  He drew into 2 regular season games and 2 playoff games and fit in very well.

I'm very thrilled Milburn has committed to the Vipers. I remember watching him play this past season as an "AP" and the young kid didn't look out of place at all. I thought he was one of the better and more competitive Vipers that night. I remember in one game he saw a regular shift, held his own, played with pace, finished his checks and played hard. Milburn is listed at 5"9 but only 154 lbs he will have to hit the gym and put on some weight. With the addition of Milburn and the list of possible returnee's the Snakes roster sits at 23 players. I know its only June and there is no official upcoming season, but these numbers/players aren't guaranteed until the start of the regular season. If there is a season this year, it will be interesting to see who returns from last year's team.

This kid looked like a three-year vet in his games with the Vipes this past season . The latest group of recruits looks strong . Now , if we only had someone to coach them...Where are you Ferns ?

I agree with a VDH that Milburn played very well in his “audition” last year. He did not look the least bit tentative or intimidated. He should be even better starting with the rest in training camp. Good signing for the Vipers.

As far as the above comment “if we only had someone to coach them” I think we need to give McKee this year to prove what he can do. This is now “his team” and there will be no excuses. Vernon fans can be very supportive but we need good decisions & we need results. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that we can even watch games.
