Spruce Kings fever hits a new high as tickets roll out the door for Fred Page Cup Final

Game one of the Fred Page Cup Final isn’t until Friday and already hockey fans are abuzz about the Prince George Spruce Kings hosting the Vernon Vipers.

Tickets went on sale today and fans were lined up all the way to the concession area.

Neil Bilodeau was one of the fans in the lineup and had a lot to say about the rush for tickets.

“I never realized that it was going to be like this as I came a half hour early and there was already a lineup up the stairs here.”

Glen Scott also lined up to get his hands on some tickets and couldn’t be more pleased with the team’s performance.

“Just watching them play right off the beginning before the playoffs are just amazing in the way they play, they go so hard and they are well disciplined and a wicked team.”

Bilodeau even handicapped the team’s chances to take the top prize against a Vipers squad that is riding a lot of momentum after dispatching defending champion Wenatchee Wild in five games.

“They have a good chance to go on along with their good record this year but don’t take anything away from the Vipers.”

Scott, on the other hand, is still amazed by the tremendous fan support shown by the community during another lengthy playoff run.

“I think it’s awesome, I think it’s great. It would be nice if we had a bigger arena with more seating as those benches get hard on the back after a while.”

Puck drop for both nights is at 7pm from the RMCA.
