Silverbacks Down Vipers 2-1 In 2OT – The Vernon Vipers hosted the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for their first exhibition game of the 2017-18 BCHL season. The Snakes opted to rest most of their veteran players with only Mike Ufberg, Sol Seibel, Simon Sagissor, Ryan Brushett and Ty Taylor dressed for the game.
The Salmon Arm Silverbacks would score first, Hudson Schandor would score an ugly one from the near boards that slipped past Ty Taylor to give the S’backs the early lead in the first period.
The Vernon Vipers wouldn’t find the back of the net until early in the 3rd period when Nicholas Cherkowski finally beat Bo Didur who was in net for Salmon Arm.
The game remained deadlocked until double overtime. Just a minute in, Marcus Mitchell was hit by a shot in front of the Viper goal but was able to bat the loose puck past Connor Webb who had subbed Taylor out midway thru the game. The Vernon Vipers travel to Salmon Arm for part two of the home and home series on August 26th.

A very cool feature for the fans, parents, friends and family to get some post game thought's from the coaches-players after a game. Now if you guys could post the game highlights after the game and the post the post game interviews, that would be even better! The Vees & Warriors do game highlights, always wondered why you guys (hockeytube.net) have never posted game highlights after home games?
