Storm Name Former Vipers Goaltender Laurin New Assistant Coach:

The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) Grande Prairie Storm
have named former Vernon Vipers goaltender Todd Laurin new Assistant Coach.  The Storm website has Laurin listed as Assistant Coach-Goaltending Coach.

Laurin is a founder and part owner of World Pro Goaltending and has spent the past four years as a Goaltending Instructor at the Edge School in Calgary.  Laurin played parts of one season in Vernon (1995-96) after coming over in a trade during the season from the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

GP Storm hire new Assistant Coach

The Grande Prairie Storm is pleased to announce the hiring of Todd Laurin as the new Assistant/Goalie Coach.

Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Todd began his Junior hockey career in the OHL then moved to the BCJHL playing for the Vernon Vipers and winning a Canadian National Junior Championship. Following Junior hockey he played in the Western Professional Hockey League where he was the recipient of the Media Choice award, the Fans Choice award twice, and was a WPHL all-star. He is a founder and part owner of World Pro Goaltending, who over the past 8 years, has conducted over 4000 one on one training sessions with numerous students graduating to NCAA scholarships, the Western Hockey League and the NHL.

For the past four years has been a Goaltending Instructor at the Edge School in Calgary.

" We received numerous resumes for the Assistant job and wanted to make sure we hired the right person. Todd has played the game at this level and higher and can relate to what the players will be going through on a daily basis. Plus to have someone here full time in Grande Prairie will be great for our goalies."

Todd's official start date with the Storm is August 1st and he will be arriving in Grande Prairie in early August to prepare for training camp.
