Former Viper Lansdell Makes Everblades 2024-25 Season-Opening Roster:

The ECHL Florida Everblades have announced their 2024-25 season-

opening roster. former Vernon Vipers forward Jesse Lansdell
 is one of twenty five players to make the Everblades season-opening roster.

Lansdell is entering his second season with the ECHL Florida Everblades.

Lansdell split the 2023-24 season with the University of Nebraska-Omaha & the ECHL Florida Everblades. Lansdell started the 2023-24 season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Florida Everblades April 1st 2024.In 6 games with the Everblades last season, Lansdell collected (2-goals-0-assists-2-points). Lansdell and the Everblades won the 2024 Kelly Cup. 

Lansdell played four seasons at the University of Notre Dame from 2019-2023.

Lansdell played parts of three seasons with the Vernon Vipers from 2016-2019. The Vipers traded defenceman Mitch Oliver October 15th 2016 to the Chilliwack Chiefs for Jesse Lansdell. In 127 games with the Vipers, Lansdell collected (31-goals-60-assists-91-points).

Fort Wayne Komets Release Ex Viper Andres:

The ECHL Fort Wayne Komets have released former Vernon Vipers

defenceman Mitch Andres.

Andres played the 2023-24 season at Robert Morris University before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Fort Wayne Komets March 14th 2024. Andres went pointless in 1 game with the Komets before being suspended/removed from the Komets roster April 1st 2024. The Komets re-signed Andres June 26th 2024.

Andres spent four seasons at Boston College from 2019-2023 before transferring to Robert Morris University for the 2023-24 season.

Andres played parts of two seasons in Vernon from 2017-2019. Andres and his four younger brothers all attended the Vernon Vipers training camp in 2018. The Vipers traded Andres to the Chilliwack Chiefs at the BCHL trade deadline January 10th 2019 for Will Dow Kenny. In 88 games with the Vipers, Andres collected (4-goals-22-assists-26-points).

Former Viper Ashton Named CCHA Rookie Of The Month:

Former Vernon Vipers defenceman Luke Ashton was named the CCHA

Rookie of the Month.

Ashton is in his first season at Minnesota State University. In 10 games this season, Ashton has (1-goal-3-assists-4-points).

Ashton played last season with the Langley Rivermen. In 45 games last season, Ashton collected (18-goals-18-assists-36-points). The Columbus Blue Jackets selected Ashton in the sixth round, 165th overall at the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

The United States Hockey League Sioux City Musketeers selected Ashton in May 2023 233rd overall in Round 16 at the USHL Draft.

Ashton played two seasons in Vernon from 2021-2023. The Vernon Vipers traded Ashton & forward Copeland Fricker to the Langley Rivermen June 29th 2023 for forwards Owen Kim & Walker Gelbard. In 81 games with the Vipers, Ashton collected (2-goals-7-assists-9-points).

Former Vernon Viper MacDonald Makes Kalamazoo Wings 2024-25 Season-Opening Roster:

The ECHL Kalamazoo Wings have announced their 2024-25 season-opening

roster. former Vernon Vipers forward Ayden MacDonald
 is one of twenty one players to make the Wings season-opening roster.

MacDonald is in his third season with the ECHL Kalamazoo Wings, after re-signing with the Wings August 29th 2023. In 64 regular season games last season, MacDonald collected (13-goals-9-assists-22-points).

MacDonald split the 2022-23  season with the ECHL Greenville Swamp Rabbits & ECHL Kalamazoo Wings. MacDonald started the 2022-23 season with the Swamp Rabbits before being traded to Kalamazoo March 16th 2023.

MacDonald played five years at Brock University from 2017-2022 before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Greenville Swamp Rabbits January 4th 2022.

MacDonald committed to the Vernon Vipers for the 2014-15 season. The Vipers traded MacDonald & Jake Emilio to the Victoria Grizzlies October 8th 2014 for Brandon Egli, Mitch Meek and future considerations. MacDonald went pointless in 5 games with the Vipers. MacDonald played parts of four years in the BCHL with Surrey, Vernon, Victoria and Cowichan from 2013-2017.

The ECHL Bloomington Bison have announced their 2024-25 season-

opening roster. former Vernon Vipers defenceman Noah Dorey is one of twenty one players to make the Bison season-opening roster.

Dorey is in his first season with the Bloomington Bison. The Bison signed Dorey August 19th 2024.

Dorey played parts of four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Kelowna Rockets from 2019-2023.

Dorey played parts of one season with the 2023-24 Vernon Vipers. The Vipers signed Dorey October 21st 2023. In 26 games with the Vipers, Dorey collected (4-goals-10-assists-14-points).

Game Recap - Salmon Arm Silverbacks 3 Vernon Vipers 0

I was born and raised in Vernon, BC and been watching/following Junior hockey in Vernon my whole life. My family watched Senior men's hockey in Vernon in the 1950's and has been watching Junior hockey in Vernon since it started in 1961. I have two family members that played Junior hockey in Vernon. I have had season tickets since 1990 missing only 40 home games. Since 2001 I have missed 10 home games. I started and created this blog in November 2008 and have over 3 million viewers. For anyone who couldn't watch or attend tonight's Vipers game, here are my thoughts and views from tonight's hockey game. You may agree or disagree, but we all have our own opinion on the hockey game and see things differently. I try to be professional and give a fare game recap from both sides. I was at tonight's game between the Vernon Vipers & Salmon Arm Silverbacks as the Silverbacks defeated the Vipers 3-0 in front of 2,553 fans at Kal Tire Place.
