I watched the Vipers game on flohockey. I thought Trail was definitely the better team. I thought it was a fairly even 1st period with the Smoke Eaters being the better team and outplaying the Snakes in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Vernon took way too many penalties this evening, also made too many mistakes/turned over the puck often. Ethan David was solid in goal and kept Vernon in the game at times for a second straight game. Where would the Vipers be without Ethan David this year? The Vipers got off to a great start to the season but have looked sub-par/average at best or struggled in a lot of games since early to mid November. This was a tough loss for Vernon and a big win for the Smokies who are only three points back of the Snakes for 4th place. Trail is 3-1 vs the Vipers. Vipers with a quick turn around, play tomorrow afternoon in Cranbrook vs a Bucks team that had tonight off.
