The visiting Penticton Vees took a 2-0 lead into the 3rd period before former Vernon Vipers forward Tyler Ho scored twice in the final twenty minutes, giving the visiting Vees a 4-0 victory over the hometown Vernon Vipers. Penticton outshot Vernon 32-25 Kaeden Lane made 25 saves for the win and shutout, while Koen MacInnes made 28 saves in the loss. The Vees improve to 10-1 while the Vipers fall to 3-5-1-2

I watched the Vipers/Vees game on Hockey TV this evening.
Well other then a few shifts/opportunities in the 1st period, I thought Penticton carried the better of the play and were the better team tonight. The Vees looked ready from the start of the game and looked very strong. Were the Vees that good tonight or were the Vipers not that great? Vernon struggled offensively and on the power play, have had troubles scoring all Okanagan Cup. The Snakes didn't generate enough time in the offensive zone or create enough opportunities to even have a chance tonight. The Vipers did block a lot of shots in the opening frame but other wise looked average at best. The Vees on the other hand look very strong, very structured and have a ton of fire power. The defence doesn't give up much and limits your time and space. Penticton capitalized on the Snakes mistakes and it cost Vernon.
The Vees are 3-0 vs Vernon this year and looking for the pre-season sweep tomorrow.
Now knowing Koen MacInnes will be heading back to Saskatoon after the Christmas break, why is he here and playing? He's taking away playing time and experience from the current Vipers goaltenders. The Vipers started the pre-season with two young goaltenders in Roan Clarke and Kobe Grant. These two kids had no previous Junior hockey experience until this season. They need to play to get better, learn and gain some experience.
Will Arquiett was the lone Viper I thought that stood out or played well.
Liam Malmquist, Tyler Ho, Tristan Amonte & Jack Bar looked good for the Vees. Kaeden Lane wasn't tested much picked up his second shutout vs the Vipers this year.
Graham Turnbull said during the broadcast if the standings stay the same after the weekend, the Vipers will face West Kelowna in the semi-finals next weekend.
Mr.DieHard....wouldn't it be exciting to have the Warriors play the Vipers in the semi-finals?
I'm sure we could make another friendly wager! Haha!
For my prediction to come true.....I'm hoping Vipers can steal a win from the Vees in OT.
And of course, Warriors will come out victorious again versus the Gorillas
