The visiting Vernon Vipers blew a 2-0 1st period lead, allowed the hometown Vees to take a 3-2 lead into the 3rd period. The Vipers got to within a goal before the Vees regained their two goal lead. Penticton sweeps the pre-season series with a 6-3 victory at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Penticton outshot Vernon 22-21 Yaniv Perets makes 18 saves in the win, while Kobe Grant makes 16 saves in the loss. The Vees finish the Okanagan Cup round robin with a 11-1 record, while the Vipers finish at 3-6-1-2

I watched the Vipers/Vees game tonight on BCHL TV
Well after a poor and very disappointing game/loss at home to the Vees Friday, I thought the Vipers come ready to play this evening and played a much better hockey game. I thought the hometown Vees carried the better of the play early but as the game went on, Vernon matched the Vees. Both teams didnt get many shots on goal but the Snakes scored two late goals in the 1st period to take a 2-0 lead. But once again Vernon blew a 2-0 lead and allowed Penticton to take a 3-2 lead into the 3rd. The Vipers had a ton of opportunities early into the 3rd but couldn't capitalize on their chances. The difference in tonight's game was Penticton's skilled/high offensive attack and the Vees capitalizing on their opportunities. Even though both teams didn't get a lot of shots on goal after two periods, this was a very entertaining game.
The Snakes have trouble playing with a two goal lead and have trouble burying their chances. This was a much closer game then the final score shows.
I really liked and thought Ayden Third, Griffen Barr, Will Arquiett, Kjell Kjemhus, Tyler Carpendale, Reagan Milburn & Kobe Grant all played well for Vernon.
I really liked and thought Devlin O'Brien, Tyler Ho, Finlay Williams, Luc Wilson, Joshua Niedermayer, Quinn Hutson, Owen Murray, Jacob Quillan & Yaniv Perets all played well for the Vees.
Graham Turnbull mentioned during the broadcast NHL broadcaster Pierre McGuire's son Ryan plays for the Vees.
One thing I have noticed watching the Vipers this year due to COVID-19 and the new rules is how much hitting/physical play has gone down. The games speed really shows with very little hitting this year. You also don't see that hatred with players/or teams due to no battles along the boards or near the goal. Those heated moments are missing that bring out the emotion and intensity in hockey games. Not being able to attend and watch games live in person, you don't get the same feel on players and teams as you would watching the games live in person. We should be very thankful we have Junior hockey this year but it's hard to get a read on players and or teams with only watching games online. It's just not the same.
As of Saturday, Nov. 7, at 10 p.m. new restrictions will be in place for the Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health regions. What does this mean for Junior hockey on the Coast? Will the BCHL continue to play or will they postpone games or cancel the season? Was tonight, the final games for a while or will the regular season still take place?
