Five years ago today (March 22nd 2015) In Game 7 of the Interior division Finals best of seven series vs the Penticton Vees. It was 0-0 heading into the 3rd period, when Penticton Vees defenceman Patrick Sexton scored at 17:07 of the 3rd period giving the hometown Vees a 1-0 lead. Penticton Vees forward Matthew Serratore scored an empty net goal at 19:56 giving the Vees a 2-0 lead and eventually a 2-0 victory over the visiting Vernon Vipers. Penticton outshot Vernon 30-27 Hunter Miska made 27 saves for the win/shutout, while Danny Todosychuk made 28 saves in the loss in front of 3,203 fans at the South Okanagan Events Center. After trailing 2-0 in the series, Vernon won the next three games, before the Vees won Games 6 & 7. With the win Penticton wins the best of seven series 4-3 advanced to the BCHL League Finals vs the Chilliwack Chiefs.
