The American Hockey League Rockford IceHogs have recalled former Vernon Vipers forward Liam Coughlin from the ECHL Indy Fuel.
Coughlin spent the past four seasons at the University of Vermont, before signing his first professional contract with the IceHogs May 19 2019.
Coughlin started the season in Rockford but never played a game with the IceHogs was assigned to the Indy Fuel September 27th 2019. In 39 games this season with Indy Coughlin has (6-goals-11-assists-17-points). Coughlin is pointless in two games with the IceHogs.
Coughlin played two seasons in Vernon (2013-2015) In 107 games with the Vipers collected (38-goals-67-assists-105-points).
Coughlin was drafted 130th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in Round 5 at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The Oilers traded Coughlin to the Chicago Blackhawks on July 6th 2015 for Anders Nilsson.

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, announced today that they have recalled forward Liam Coughlin from the Indy Fuel of the ECHL.
Coughlin, 25, scored 11 points (five goals, six assists) in 30 games with the Fuel this season.
Last season, the South Boston, Massachusetts native completed is senior season at the University of Vermont, registering a career-high 17 points on six goals and 11 assists in 29 games. He shared the team lead with three power-play goals last year and finished second on the team in points-per-game with a mark of .59. The 6-2, 201-lbs forward also posted three multi-point efforts and notched a season-high four-game point streak (3g, 2a) from Jan. 6 – 18.
Coughlin capped his collegiate career with double-digit point totals in each of his four seasons with the Catamounts. He combined for 56 points (18g, 38a) and 90 penalty minutes in 129 games from 2015-19.
