Two Vernon Vipers have earned a spot on Team Canada West for the upcoming World Junior A Challenge.
Jack Judson and Alex Swetlikoff were given the good news Wednesday afternoon.
For Swetlikoff, this is his second appearance for Canada West, following their gold medal win last year. Judson will get his first chance to represent his country.
They will join 12 other BCHLers on the roster.
The World Junior A Challenge officially returns to Bonnyville for the second time in three years on Sunday, as the town will welcome the top Junior A talent from four countries.
From Dec. 9-16, the teams — Team Canada East, Team Canada West, the Czech Republic, Russia and the United States — will compete in 14 games over eight days at the 1,800-seat R.J. Lalonde Arena.
Team Canada West will kick off the tournament on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. MT, opening its quest for a second-straight gold medal against the United States.

Excellent opportunity for these young men but certainly not fair for struggling teams to lose their better players for this length of time.
