Former Vernon Lakers forward Scott Salmond & Team Canada open the 2018 IIHF World Hockey Championship vs the United States this morning on TSN at 7am.Salmond is Vice President of Hockey Operations with Team Canada played parts of two years in Vernon (1988-1990) before being traded to Kelowna during the 1989-90 season. In 52 games with the Vernon Lakers Salmond collected (7-goals-26-assists-33-points). Salmond has been involved with Team Canada since 2002 was named Vice President of Hockey Operations in 2014.
