Kal Tire Place For Another Decade

One of Vernon’s best known companies has made a long term commitment to the community.
Kal Tire has extended its naming rights agreement for the Multiplex — or Kal Tire Place — for another ten years.
The City’s Recreation Director, Doug Ross, says the deal also covers the name for the second arena, which has been unofficially dubbed Kal Tire North, as it’s being added at the north end of the current building.
Kal Tire has the ability to propose a name, and then we’ll work with them to come up with something we can agree to,” Ross tells Kiss FM
Ross says the deal is worth $65,000 a year until 2026, when it rises to $70,000, money that’s put back into the 16 year old, 3,000 seat facility.
As part of the deal, the roof of the new arena will be painted orange, a key colour used by the tire company.
They were very open minded about taking on the new facility as well as the existing Kal Tire Place, and for going for the ten year agreement which is a big commitment to our community,” adds Ross.
The original four year sponsorship deal with Kal Tire expired on May 1.
