Admirals Sign Former Vipers Defencemen Hetnik:

The East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Norfolk Admirals have
signed former Vernon Vipers defenceman Marc Hetnik.

Hetnik finished his fourth and final season with the UMass Minutemen this season, played two seasons in Vernon (2011-2013) In 112 regular season games with the Vipers Hetnik collected (6-goals-22-assists-28-points).

Admirals Agree To Terms With Three College Free Agents

NORFOLK, VA. – The Norfolk Admirals have agreed to terms with three college free agents, the team announced on Thursday.

Marc Hetnik, 24, comes to the Admirals from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. A 6’2” – 192 lbs. defenseman, Hetnik played 125 games over four years in his collegiate career and hails from Brookline, MA.

Tommy Giroux, 24, signs after completing his career at the University of Quebec-Trois-Rivieres. Prior to his Canadian college tenure, he played two seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, splitting his time with the Shawinigan Cataracs, Drummondville Voltigeurs and Blainville-Broisbriand Armada.

His final season of QMJHL action he was the alternate captain of the Armada and in 88 games of CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) Giroux recorded 114 points (51-63). The Quebec, Quebec native stands at 5’8” and weighs 170 lbs.

Vincent Llorca, 25, is a 6’3” – 205 lbs. defenseman that just concluded his fourth year at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. During his time there he was the captain all four years and was named to the second all-CIS team in 2014-15. Born in France, Llorca has represented his country at both the junior and major international level.

All three players are expected to make their Admirals debut this evening as the team takes on the Elmira Jackals at First Arena in New York. The game will be available to watch on ECHL.TV and at Buffalo Wild Wings on Laskin Road at the Virginia Beach Ocean front, as well as available to listen live on 102.1 FM The Tide.

Hetnik will wear #6, Giroux will wear #70 and Llorca will wear #55.
