The East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Idaho Steelheads have signed former
Vernon Vipers defenceman Kyle Bigos.
After four years with Merrimack College Bigos has spent the past three seasons playing in three leagues with four teams. Bigos played from 2013-2016 with the American Hockey League San Francisco Bulls & Worcester Sharks, East Coast Hockey League Ontario Reign & the Elite Ice Hockey League Edinburgh Capitals. The Capitals are a Scottish ice hockey club, playing in the UK-wide Elite Ice Hockey League based in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh Scotland.
Bigos played two seasons in Vernon (2007-2009) collecting (10-goals-40-assists-50-points) in 166 regular season games with the Vipers. Bigos an assistant captain in his second and final season with the Vipers was drafted 99th overall by the NHL Edmonton Oilers in the 4th round of the 2009 NHL Draft. Bigos attended the Oilers Developement Camp two out of three years before being traded to the San Jose Sharks for Lee Moffie on July 7th 2013. Bigos never played a game in the NHL with the Oilers or Sharks.

Boise, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with defenseman Kyle Bigos on a contract for the 2016-17 season.
The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars and the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars.
Bigos, 27, returns to North America after playing in the United Kingdom’s Elite Ice Hockey League during the 2015-16 season, registering 23 points (6g-17a) and 189 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Edinburgh Capitals.
A fourth-round selection (99th overall) of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Bigos has played a total of 161 professional games in the ECHL, EIHL, and the American Hockey League, collecting 397 penalty minutes.
Prior to playing in Europe, the Upland, Calif. native split time between the ECHL and the AHL from 2013-15. He played in eight games for AHL Worcester, collecting two assists, and played 102 games with the San Francisco Bulls and the Ontario Reign. He has registered 26 points (4g-22a) and 203 penalty minutes in the ECHL.
