The Western Hockey League Prince Albert Raiders have traded former Vernon Vipers forward Josh Maser to the Prince George Cougars.
Maser attended the Vernon Vipers Training camp in August, left camp for the Prince Albert Raiders Training camp.

Prince George Cougars General Manager Todd Harkins has announced today that the Cougars have acquired 1999-born forward Josh Maser (Houston, B.C.) and a sixth round pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for 1999-born forward Adam Kadlec (Edina, MN).
Josh Maser checks in at 6’2” and 215 pounds. He was a fourth round selection (74th overall) of the Prince Albert Raiders in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft and appeared in one game with the Raiders during the 2015-16 season. That same season, he suited up in 32 games for the Cariboo Cougars (BCMML) and scored 20 goals and added 17 assists for 37 points and 52 penalty minutes. In seven playoff games he contributed an additional three goals and three assists. He’s currently with the Kamloops Storm of the KIJHL and has already potted three goals and two assists in two games.
Adam Kadlec (6’3″, 188 pounds) was drafted by the Cougars in the 10th round (203rd overall) of the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft and signed a Standard WHL Player Agreement Contract with the team earlier this year in February. So far this season Kadlec has appeared in six games and totalled four penalty minutes. Since February he’s appeared in 10 career games and has recorded six penalty minutes.
After today’s transaction, the Prince George Cougars roster now sits at 24 players: 15 forwards, seven defencemen and two goaltenders. Tonight the Cougars put their league best 10-2 record on the line when they host the Swift Current Broncos for their lone meeting of the 2016-17 regular season. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Maser, from Houston, B.C., was a fourth-round pick by the Raiders in the 2014 bantam draft. Last season, he had 20 goals and 17 assists in 32 games with the Prince George-based Cariboo Cougars of the B.C. Major Midget Hockey League. . . . This season, Maser is with the junior B Kamloops Storm of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. He has three goals and two assists in two games. . . . The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Kadlec is from Edina, Minn. The Cougars selected him in the 10th round of the 2014 bantam draft. This season, he was pointless in six games with the Cougars.
