Day 3 From Vipers Training Camp:

I stopped by Kal Tire Place after work tonight and caught the Vipers third and final day of Training camp.  I saw the final two periods of the Blue & White scrimmage game as Team White finished camp with a 3-0 record coming away with a 6-3 win tonight.  Team White had a 3-2 lead after 20 minutes of play and a 4-2 lead after 40 minutes of action before coming away with the 6-3 victory.  The physical play and overall tempo of the tonight's game picked up over the past two days.  Alot more hitting and penalties in tonight's scrimmage.

Here are the players that I thought stood out tonight

Jason Bird (93)  For the second straight night played and looked very good on the blueline for Team Blue.

Kenny Citron (95)  Who has committed to play with the Vipers this season also looked very good-strong on the backend.  Was pretty impressed with his skating ability and puck handling.

Brendan Persley (93)  Worked hard and had a few good scoring chances through out tonight's scrimmage.

Adam Nanji (93)  Once again stood out as one of the top players at camp.  The Vipers with already six twenty year olds have some tough decissions to make here.

Matt Halvorson (96)  Was another d-man that I really liked this evening, thought the young man played very well.  Was ingaged in the play, played his position well.

Dexter Dancs (95)  Has really impressed me so far this week.  Dancs has come to play and competed very hard in both intersquad games I watched.

Logan Mick (96)  Played and looked strong, looks to have bulked up a bit from last season.

Scratches that I noticed

Austin Smith (93)
Danny Todosychuck (94)
Liam Coughlin (94)

I over heard one couple talking behind me saying that the Vipers are expecting a kid to arrive late that is coming from Boston.  I didnt catch any name, so who knows, guess will have to wait and see.

The Vipers still have one practise left wich goes tomorrow morning before the teams first pre-season game of the year Friday night in Salmon Arm.
