Former Vipers Goaltender Hammond Named CCHA Goaltender Of The Week:

Former Vernon Vipers goaltender, Andrew Hammond has been named CCHA goaltender of the week. Hammond who was aquired from the Surrey Eagles at the 2008 BCHL trade deadline played parts of two seasons with the Vipers (2007-2008) going (48-29-2). Hammond is in his second season with the Falcons.

Junior Andrew Hammond earned a pair of wins over the weekend, allowing just one goal in two games of work. Hammond made 50 saves over the weekend series, setting a .50 goals-against-average with a save percentage of .980. Hammond blanked the Chargers Saturday night, earning his first shutout of the season, and third of his career.

Hammond’s numbers have been outstanding so far in the young season. He has played in every game for the Falcons, going 3-0-1 on the year. His goals-against-average for the year currently sits at 1.47; while his save percentage sits at .931.
