Vipers Alumni Volpatti Joins Dancing With The Vernon Stars:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Aaron Volpatti will

join Dancing with the Vernon Stars this fall.

Volpatti played four years at Brown University from 2006-2010 before signing as a free agent with the Vancouver Canucks on March 22, 2010. Volpatti played parts of two and a half seasons with the Canucks before being claimed off waivers by the Washington Capitals February 28th 2013. Volpatti played parts of five years in the NHL with Vancouver & Washington before retiring due to injury in 2015. Volpatti played two seasons with his hometown Revelstoke Grizzlies from 2001-2003. The Grizzlies retired Volpatti's jersey #19 February 17th 2018.

Since his retirement, Volpatti released his own book in 2022.

Mallette is Head Coach of Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team. Mallette was an Assistant Coach with Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team last season, an Assistant Coach with Hockey Canada's Under 18 team at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup & Head Coach of Canada Red U17 2021-22 team.

Mallette will be entering his sixth season as Head Coach of the Western Hockey League Kelowna Rockets.

Mallette is a Rockets Alumni (1996-1999) has been with the Rockets for the past ten seasons. Mallette spent six seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Rockets from 2014-2020 before being named Head Coach March 2nd 2020.

Mallette played ten seasons in the ECHL, UHL, CHL & IHL with Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Ashville, Elmira, Colorado, Youngstown, Laredo & Flint from 2000-2009 before retiring from professional hockey in 2009. Tufto played the 2023-24 season with the Iowa Heartlanders, after signing as a free agent July 14th 2023. In 29 games, Tufto collected (3-goals-19-assists-22-points).

Tufto played the 2022-23 season with the ECHL Atlanta Gladiators and the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) Krefeld Pinguine. The Pinguine is a professional ice hockey team in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga hockey league. Their home is Krefeld, North-Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Tufto played four seasons at Quinnipiac University from 2017-2021 before signing his first professional contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning March 31st 2021. The Lightning assigned Tufto to the American Hockey League Syracuse Crunch after his college season ended in 2021. Tufto has yet to play for the Lightning.

Andrusiak started the 2023-24 season with the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones. Andrusiak was in his third season with the Cyclones after re-signing with the Cyclones September 8th 2023. Andrusiak signed a Professional Try-out (PTO) with the American Hockey League Calgary Wranglers January 27th 2024 was returned to Cincinnati January 29th 2024. The Cyclones loaned Andrusiak to Calgary Febraury 7th 2024 before the Wranglers returned Andrusiak back to the ECHL February 16th 2024. The Cyclones traded Andrusiak on the ECHL trade deadline day to the Florida Everblades on March 21st 2024. The HK Spišská Nová Ves recently signed Andrusiak June 17th 2024. HK Spišská Nová Ves is a professional Slovak ice hockey club based in Spišská Nová Ves. They currently play in the Slovak Extraliga. The team was established in 1932.

Finlay has played the past two seasons with the ECHL Allen Americans. The Americans added Finlay to their Protected List June 10th 2024. The Americans re-signed Finlay July 13th 2023. In 26 games last season, Finlay collected (8-goals-11-assist-19-points).

Finlay recently signed with the Elite Ice Hockey League Glasgow Clan June 18th 2024. The Glasgow Clan (formerly Braehead Clan) is a Scottish professional ice hockey team. It was formed in 2010 as the UK Elite Ice Hockey League expanded into the West of Scotland market, and are based at the Braehead Arena in Renfrewshire. It is currently one of three Scottish clubs playing in the top British league.

Finlay played two seasons in Europe from 2020-2022 playing with four different teams (KOVEE, HK Nitra, Tingsryds AIF & EHC Freiburg) before signing with the ECHL Allen Americans September 27th 2022. Finlay was named to the ECHL 2022-23 All-Rookie team.

Finlay played four years at Denver University from 2016-2020 before signing his first professional contract with Koovee September 7th 2020. Koovee is a Finnish ice hockey team that plays in the Mestis, second-tier league where the team is based in Tampere, Finland. 

Finlay attended the Vancouver Canucks development camp in July 2019.

Finlay played parts of two seasons in Vernon (2014-2016) after coming over in a trade with the Penticton Vees. The Vipers traded the Junior A playing rights of Dakota Conroy & future considerations October 28th 2014 to the Penticton Vees for Liam Finlay. Stuart was an Assistant Coach the past two seasons with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Nipawin Hawks.

Stuart started as a video coach with the Vancouver Giants in 2014 was also a video coach and Assistant Coach with the BCHL Merritt Centennials for three seasons.

Stuart was a video coach/scout with the 2018-19 Vernon Vipers.

Wings Add Former Viper Forward MacDonald To Season-Ending Roster:

The ECHL Kalamazoo Wings announced June 24th the team’s Season-

Ending Roster for the 2023-24 season. The Wings have twenty players listed on their Season-Ending Roster, one is former Vernon Vipers forward Ayden MacDonald.

ECHL announces Season-Ending Rosters

MacDonald has spent the past two seasons with the ECHL Kalamazoo Wings, after re-signing with the Wings August 29th 2023. In 64 games last season, MacDonald collected (13-goals-9-assists-22-points).

MacDonald split the 2022-23  season with the ECHL Greenville Swamp Rabbits & ECHL Kalamazoo Wings. MacDonald started the 2022-23 season with the Swamp Rabbits before being traded to Kalamazoo March 16th 2023.

MacDonald played five years at Brock University from 2017-2022 before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Greenville Swamp Rabbits January 4th 2022.

MacDonald committed to the Vernon Vipers for the 2014-15 season. The Vipers traded MacDonald & Jake Emilio to the Victoria Grizzlies October 8th 2014 for Brandon Egli, Mitch Meek and future considerations. MacDonald went pointless in 5 games with the Vipers. MacDonald played parts of four years in the BCHL with Surrey, Vernon, Victoria and Cowichan from 2013-2017.

Kris Mallette’s summer ends early with Hockey Canada assignment | RocketFAN

Mallette will be entering his sixth season as Head Coach of the Western Hockey League Kelowna Rockets.

Mallette was an Assistant Coach with Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team last season, an Assistant Coach with Hockey Canada's Under 18 team at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup & Head Coach of Canada Red U17 2021-22 team.

Mallette is a Rockets Alumni (1996-1999) has been with the Rockets for the past ten seasons. Mallette spent six seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Rockets from 2014-2020 before being named Head Coach March 2nd 2020.

Mallette played ten seasons in the ECHL, UHL, CHL & IHL with Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Ashville, Elmira, Colorado, Youngstown, Laredo & Flint from 2000-2009 before retiring from professional hockey in 2009. Mallette spent three seasons in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League as an Assistant Coach & Head Coach of the North Okanagan Knights from 2010-2013. 

Mallette spent one season in Vernon as an Associate Coach with the 2013-14 Vernon Vipers. Mallette left the Vipers after the 2013-14 season, returning to Kelowna in 2014. Mallette was named Rockets Assistant Coach July 4th 2014.

Coughlin played the 2023-24 season with the ECHL Iowa Heartlanders, signing as a free agent August 14th 2023. In 47 games last season, Coughlin collected (6-goals-7-assists-13-points).

Coughlin played the previous two seasons with the ECHL Worcester Railers.

Coughlin played four seasons at Vermont University from 2015-2019 before signing his first professional contract with the American Hockey League Rockford IceHogs May 19th 2019.

Coughlin was drafted 130th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in Round 5 at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Coughlin didn't play a game with the Oilers, was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks July 6th 2015. Coughlin has yet to play a game with the Blackhawks.

Coughlin played two seasons in Vernon from 2013-2015. In 107 games with the Vipers, Coughlin collected (38-goals-67-assists-105-points).
