And then you would be complaining about the 20 million it would take to keep that dump running and you would still be sitting on cold wooden bench seats and a score clock protected with chicken wire that doesn't work 🤔

Vernon's Civic arena was built in the 1930s and used concrete that was mixed in small batches on site. If you remember the walls in the Civic, there were layers of poorly mixed concrete. Cominco in Trail was built after the war and used larger batches of concrete that was just mixed better and lasted better. And Cominco, like the other post-war rinks in Kelowna and Penticton, used steel roof trusses. It wasn't Vernon City Council that did in the Civic, it was just father time and old technology.
