Also mentioned in the Red Deer Graduates message is Jace Weir of Coldstream. It looks like Weir had a 5 year WHL career and was an important player on the Rebels team. " Having completed his WHL career, the 21-year-old is headed back to his home province of British Columbia, joining the University of British Columbia’s men’s hockey program for the 2025-26 season". Weir was never a Viper but it is good to see a local kid do well. Congratulations Jace.

It seems when looking at our recruiting by our scouts past tense that wasn't really an issue with the vipers as most of them did very well as they progressed. The issue was our coaching team and the friendship the owners had with its coaches. In business to be successful one must separate the two. I believe with Matt Cooke and his two future assistant coaches that we will have the formula the vipers need to be successful as past tense it wasn't happening. Not being critical but we all are on a learning curve and I feel at this moment in viper history lesson learned and now we can move forward with the coaches doing there job to be successful and the owners doing there thing both not interfering in each others territory unless a discussion needs to be made. Looking forward to this viper season. GO, VIPERS, GO.
