I watched the Vipers game on my computer tonight. Due to a family dinner, I missed the 1st period but caught the 2nd and 3rd periods. This game was never close and ended up a blowout! Good to see the Snakes offence come alive this evening as prior to the past three games, Vernon went eight games with four or fewer goals a game. Owen Kim left the game with what looked like some kind of leg injury, lets hope its not too serious and he's not out for too long. This game got chippy in the 3rd. Cowichan has three former Vipers. Luke Lavery, Mike Vandekamp and Adam Bourgeois. Newly acquired defenceman Zhenya Miles made his Vipers debut tonight. Looked like a decent crowd in Duncan and sounded like several Viper fans in attendance. With only one win in their last seven road games prior to this weekend, the Vipers have won back to back games on the road. This was a big win as Trail is leading going into the 3rd are only five points back of Vernon.
I watched both games this weekend on hockeytv (flo). Enjoyed both games. While they made some mistakes in Victoria, I thought overall they were fairly evenly matched. The posted shots didn't match what I saw. We seemed to have gotten more shots than posted and Victoria seemed to have gotten far fewer than posted, but that was my observation. On Saturday in Duncan they really did out play Cowichan. In the end a very valuable 4 points and hopefully some confidence rebuilding. Hopefully they can carry that with them into Penticton on Friday. For those that watched or were there, does anyone have any idea what was wrong the the jumbotron on Saturday night. The way it kept going on and off every minute or two was insane.
