What a weird time and world we live in today. At this time last year, the Vipers were already into week #3 of the BCHL regular season. Due to COVID-19 not only has the world and peoples lives changed but so has the hockey world. Big news today with the 2020 pre-season schedule getting released. Normally the Vipers would start training camp in and around August 20th with around four-five exhibitions games to follow days later. Boy how different things look for the 2020-21 season. The Snakes will play 12 exhibition games and only play three teams. The Vipers will play a home & home series almost every weekend through out the pre-season before word on the 2020-21 regular season. With Vernon playing West Kelowna, Penticton and Salmon Arm twelve times, rivalries will definitely heat up in a hurry. Judging by the Vipers roster that is listed on the league website, it looks like the Snakes will carry 25 players into the pre-season, unless some cuts happen within the following week. Will the Vipers make any cuts before next weekends home & home series vs West Kelowna? Will the Snakes name a captain before Friday's game? After the playoffs were cut short and a lengthy not normal off season, fans or no fans, Im super excited and looking forward to the pre-season next weekend.
Go Vipers Go!
