Interior Conference Semi-Finals: Game 6: Vernon (3-2) @ Westside (6-5)

Tonight is Game 6 of the Interior Conference Semi-Finals between the Westside Warriors and the defending National Champion Vernon Vipers. The Vipers have won two straight including last night's 7-1 victory on home ice giving Vernon a chance to end the Warriors season tonight. Key’s and Notes to tonight’s game:

-A win tonight and the Vipers will face the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the Interior Conference Finals

-The Vipers need to play a full 60 minutes

-Vernon has to jump on the Warriors early and often, sending them a message this isnt going to be easy

-Vernon has to start off from where they left off in Game 5 and thats finish their checks, get the puck in deep and forecheck down low, wear down the Warriors defence

-The last year Vernon lost in the Interior Conference Semi-Finals was in seven games to the eventual BCHL Champion Penticton Vees back in 1007-08

-Bryce Kakoske faces his former team in these playoffs

-Kirby Halcrow is 4-5 in his career vs. Westside during the regular season & playoffs

-The Vipers need to play physical and get the forecheck going down low, the Vipers are a much better club when they get the defence turned around and work the cycle

-Vernon is 0-2 in these playoffs when giving up the games first goal

-Blake Voth is 4-0-1-1 in his career vs. Westside during the regular season and 1-1 vs. the Warriors during these playoffs

-Kirby Halcrow has to be just as good as he was in Game 4 & Game 5 for the Vipers, Vernon needs some big saves when needed

-Getting off to a good start and a strong finish is key for Vernon

-The Vipers are 3-0 in these playoffs when scoring first

-Experience and leadership is key for any team come playoff time, the Vipers seven returning players from last years RBC Cup team will have to lead the way and use their experience and leadership through these playoffs

-Vernon has to once again play shutdown hockey and shutdown the Warriors offensive players

-The Vipers cant let Westside to get under their skin and stick to their game plan

-Vernon has the 9th ranked powerplay in these playoffs

-The Vipers have the 11th ranked penalty kill in the playoffs
