After helping Boston University go undefeated in October by making an immediate impact on the Terrier lineup, freshman forward Sahir Gill has been named Hockey East Rookie of the Month, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

In October, Gill registered eight points on three goals and five assists and is currently tied for the team lead in plus/minus at plus-7. In just his second collegiate game, Gill tallied a goal and three assists to lead BU to a 5-4 victory over Notre Dame in the championship game of the Ice Breaker Tournament.

Junior defenseman David Warsofsky was a runner-up for Player of the Month and junior Kieran Millan was a runner-up for Goaltender of the Month.

Gill, Millan and Warsofksy have helped the Terriers matched the program's best start of the past 32 years, as the team is currently 6-0-1 and ranked third in both national polls. No BU team has gone undefeated in its first eight contests since the 1977-78 national championship squad opened its season with a remarkable 21 straight wins.
