The Vipers are riding a twelve game winning streak heading into tonights game. Tonight is the fourth game of a six game road trip for Vernon. The Millionaires are riding a two game winning streak. The Vipers currently sit atop the BCHL standings with a record of 19-1-0-0 one point better then the Penticton Vees who are 18-2-0-1 Vernon won its 12th game in a row last night with a 5-2 win over PG. The Vipers have scored 106 goals and have given up a league low 34 goals. The Vipers have four players in the leagues top 20 in scoring. Mike Collins (13-18-31), Dylan Walchuk (12-15-27), Braden Pimm (8-17-25) & Jonathan Milhouse (8-15-25) Vernon goaltender Graeme Gordon is the leagues top goaltender with a record of 15-1 and a GAA of 1.61 Heading into tonights contest Vernon is a perfect 10-0 on the road and are still without forwards, Connor & Kellen Jones who are away playing for Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge. Vernon is playing its second game of a three game Northern Road trip, their final Northern road trip of the season, unless meeting one of the three teams come Playoffs. The Vipers cant take the Mills lightly after Quesnel took Vernon to overtime in their last meeting between the two teams. Vernon is going to have to match the Mills hard work and physical play and has to keep their eye on Trever Hertz (15-10-25), Jon Puskar (9-15-24), Taylor Holst (11-11-22), Darick Ste-Marie (6-10-16) & Tyler French (7-5-12) who all can put the puck in the net. Vernon is going to have to try and get lots of traffic and pucks towards Luke Siemens who has played well against the Vipers this season.

The Millionaires currently sit in 5th place in the Interior Division with a 7-12-0-3 record one point up on the 6th place Prince George Spruce Kings. The Mills are coming off their 2nd win a row last night with a 5-2 win over Williams Lake. Quesnel has scored just 66 goals and has given up 84 so far this season. The Mills are 4-5-0-1 in their last 10 games and are 5-6-0-1 on home ice. Trever Hertz (15-10-25) is the lone Millionaire in the leagues top 20 in scoring. Quesnel has played Vernon tough this year minus a 9-1 Vernon victory earlier in the season. The Mills gave Vernon a good run in first meeting of the season between these two teams falling 2-0 to the Vipers and then in their last meeting took the Vipers to Overtime before giving up the OT winner to fall to 0-3 against Vernon. If the Mills can keep up the physical play, work hard for a full 60 minutes, try and shutdown the Vipers high scoring offensive attack the Mills have a chance at knocking off the defending Champs. Quesnel needs to get more shots and traffic in front of Graeme Gordon. Luke Siemens needs to be strong between the pipes for the Mills if they want a chance at knocking off the Vipers.

Drew George scored the game winner at 5:02 of the 1st period. Dylan Walchuk and Kevin Kraus collected the assists. Cory Kane sealed the victory with a goal at 1:45 of the 3rd period Connor Jones and Dan Nycholat picked up the assists. Vernon outshot Quesnel 37-29. Graeme Gordon picked up his first shutout of the season making 29 saves. Kirby Halcrow took the loss making 35 saves.

Thursday, October 15th @ Quesnel: Vernon wins 9-1
Connor Jones with two, Dan Nycholat, Cory Kane, Braden Pimm, Drew George, Kevin Kraus, Bryce Kakoske and Patrick McGillis scored for the Vipers. Connor Jones, Cory Kane, Jonathan Milhouse & Bryce Kakoske all picked up three points each. Graeme Gordon made 25 saves in the win. Skyler Smutek scored the Mills lone goal. Luke Siemens made five saves giving up three goals while, Kirby Halcrow made 26 saves taking the loss. Vernon outshot Quesnel 40-26.

Saturday, October 24th @ Vernon: Vernon wins 3-2 Overtime
Connor Jones & Braden Pimm scored in the 2nd period giving Vernon a 2-0 lead before Taylor Holst (shorthanded) & Matthew Herskovitz tied the game for the Mills in the 3rd sending it to Overtime. Garrett Noonan scored at 4:41 giving the Vipers the 3-2 OT victory. Vernon outshot Quesnel 50-26. Graeme Gordon made 24 saves for the win, while Luke Siemens made 47 saves in the loss.
