Gill Add's One In 6-2 Steel Victory:


Former Vernon Viper Sahir Gill scored once last night as the USHL Chicago Steel knocked off the Youngstown Phantoms 6-2 in pre season action.

Bensenville, IL (September 11th, 2009) -- The Chicago Steel started off the 2009-2010 Decade of Determination season with a 6-2 win over the Youngstown Phantoms. Alexander Krushelnyski got the Steel off to the right start with a 1-0 lead only :37 seconds into the game. Mark Anthoine added a goal 4 minutes later to give them a 2 goal lead, and the Steel would add two more goals when Sahir Gill found the back of the net and Mark Anthoine netted his second of the night.

In the Third period Youngstown fought back and scored two unanswered goals, but the Steel were able to regain their four goal lead with goals from Greg Wolfe and Mac Olson.

The Steel face off against the Youngstown Phantoms again tomorrow night in their 2nd preseason game of the season.
