Stavrianeas was traded from Victoria to Penticton.
Stavrianneas traded to the Vees
from the first game the Vipers played on October 4, to today, they only have 2 players left from that team, Pastro and Gibson, Brutal, just Brutal!!
The Vipers have lacked scoring all season but Will Schumacher was at least one kid the Vipers could rely on for a goal or a couple of points from game to game. This was one of only a few great signings this season. Schumacher was by far the most talented forward we had. Schumacher lead the team in scoring and was one of only a few bright spots on this team. But at the end of the day, with the Vipers out of the playoffs, you need to do with what's best for the team for next season. Schumacher won't be back, so bringing in a young 17 yr old in Finn Kallay and future considerations, you now have someone for the remainder of this year and now for next season.
Ryan Watt was also a part of this trade but as a 20 yr old, won't be back next season. Not the biggest kid but someone that looks like they can add some offence. Watt has some decent numbers the last few seasons.
Kallay another kid who doesn't have a lot of size or points. He's young and can hopefully mature and develop and become a good forward for the Vipers in the future.
I can't even keep track anymore of all the players that have come and gone this season. It's ridiculous! Remember when kids would play two, three or even four seasons with one team? Now players are coming and going so fast and seems like every few days. You have to wonder what the recruiting will be like for next season and if this trend of players leaving teams on a daily basis continues into next season?
An absentee Owner and a Brother who knows nothing about running a Hockey Team. What more could we ask for as Fans?
Shumacher was a decent goal scorer but if this league kept track of plus/minus you may think differently. Score one, give up one or two. The lack of defensive awareness by a lot of the players and dependence on goalies bailing them out is a major reason for the dismal record.
Happy for Stav, Bibby and Stoikov, now they can play playoff hockey. Best of luck to them!
You forgot about charlie he was on the team with Erik and Kojl so that make 3 from the first game of the regular season was on September 20 not Oct 4
Yes, September 20 but, What “Charlie” are you talking about!
Oh, Charlie Kesel but, he did not play the first game.
Charlie play the second game of the season. So there are 3 players who are still on the vipers team from the start not 2
Maybe if they created an environment and culture that was attractive to players they wouldn’t see so much movement and the wins might start coming. But instead they lie to recruits, treat them like garbage and expect them to simply accept it despite the many options players have nowadays. Couldn’t even keep the coaching staff together. It’s disgraceful and the fans and players end up paying the price.
