You hate to see a veteran/character player like Bibby traded but in my opinion with the Vipers not making the playoffs, why not trade a 20 yr old who won't be back next season. I said about a month ago that if the Vipers weren't going to make the playoffs, I hope they trade anyone who's 20 or anyone who won't be back next season and get some younger kids who will be back for next season. In my opinion it's time to start looking at next season and next years roster. This season has been a joke and the worst season I have ever seen in all of my years watching Junior hockey in Vernon.
I really liked Bibby. A veteran/character kid who played hard almost every night, played with heart and was great on and off the ice. It's nice to see Luke go to a playoff team and get a chance at winning a Championship with the Bandits. All the best in Brooks and your hockey career Luke.
In Burns the Vipers get a 19 yr old defenceman that has only played 13 games in the BCHL. Burns spent the past season and a half with the MJHL Steinbach Pistons. Burns had sixteen pts in 20 games before joining the Brooks Bandits. If Burns decides to return to Vernon next year, Burns will be one of your 20 yr old veterans.
He asked out just like most of the players that got moved the past few days
Burns didn't report to Vernon. So now what? Will the Bandits have to give the Vipers future considerations? or someone for next season?
