A new scoreboard is long overdue! If it wasn’t a BCHL requirement, I doubt it would have happened.

YES!!! but, as it it MANDATED by the BCHL, the BCHL and/or the Vernon Vipers should contribute some of the funds!

Same kind of issue we had in West Kelowna. Jesus! Such a waist of money! This isn't the NHL

Dont think it a waste of money, in this day and age it is what the public and users expect but, some of the cost should be on ALL users that need the score board ie: minor hockey, figure skating , vipers,

I'm super excited we are getting a video scoreboard. Something that should have been installed when the arena was first built.

When the arena opened in 2001 I was talking with Duncan Wray and asked why they didn't put in a video scoreboard when the arena was built? Duncan told me, were lucky to have the scoreboard we have now. He said original plans were to have a scoreboard similar to what was in the Civic Arena bolted up on one of the end walls behind one of the nets.

the late Beryl Nerling(not sure of spelling) headed the drive to get the present scoreboard for the Multiplex( as it was called then)

In short…no. The City of Vernon is the landlord, thus they’re obligated to provide essentials in operating the facility. And, being 2025, this is an essential facet of an arena. Other user groups will get access to it as well. Oh, and currently…there IS no mandate. Might be one day, but not right now. Thus, the iPads in the penalty box for officials to review when requested.
