Bartko Stands On His Head:

I was at tonights Dauphin-La Ronge game as the Kings improve to 3-0 with a 3-2 win over the Ice Wolves. Dauphin was by far the better team in the first two periods but unable to get much past Adam Bartko who come up with some huge saves. The Kings who with an early 5 minute powerplay to start the 2nd period recorded just three shots as La Ronge's penalty kill was solid killing off the entire five minute major. Id it wasnt for Bartko (44 saves) this game should have been over after two periods of play. Bartko gave his team a chance to win as La Ronge tied the game early to start the 3rd and finally showed up as the Ice Wolves outplayed the Kings in the final period but couldnt score on their chances. Backup goaltender, Brett Willows making his first start of the RBC Cup made two or three real solid saves keeping the score tied at two. La Ronge would take a late penalty with three minutes remaining and it cost them. Dauphin would capitalize on the powerplay and score the winner. A very physical-rough game with lots of pushing and shoving after the whistle, tempers heated up on both sides. La Ronge drops to 1-2.
