Third Commits To Vernon:

New Recruit – Ayden Third

June 22, 2020

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the commitment of Ayden Third.

Third is from Regina  and played last season with the Regina Pat Canadians Midget AAA Team.  He had 7 goals and 17 assists in 44 games played.

“Ayden defends really well and is hard to play against,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.

Third was an assistant captain for his team last season.

And the list of new committed players continues. With the addition of Ayden Third, this gives the Vipers nine defencemen (Possible players returning from last season and committed players). It looks like Jason McKee is putting together a big team for this coming season. Third put up some decent numbers last season as an assistant captain. I like his size and leadership role. One thing I noticed was Third was drafted 39th overall by the SJHL Melfort Mustangs in the 2017 SJHL Bantam draft. I wish the Vipers would mention who is returning from last season. So far the new recruits look good on paper, but how will they look at training camp and once the season starts? This is a big season for Jason McKee who has a lot to prove to Viper fans who are still very bitter over Mark Ferner not returning.

eliteprospects.com lists Trey Taylor as playing for Clarkson U in 2020-21. Nothing for Nicholas Kent for 2020-21.

http://collegehockeyinc.com/commitments.php shows Taylor at Clarkson for 2020-21 and Nicholas Kent at Quinnipiac for 2020-21. This might mean that they are both gone.

I also saw that. The reporters at BCHL Network posted a list of graduating and returning Vipers for this coming season and Trey Taylor & Nicholas Kent were both on the list. Over the summer I have always noticed the players you think are coming back, don't and some of the ones that you don't expect back, do return. Nobody really knows until training camp. I wish the Vipers would tell us who is returning or at least who they expect to return from last season.
