I really liked Johnny Derrick and was very disappointed to see him go. Vernon's loss was West Kelowna's gain. The Warriors struggled last season but goaltending wasn't the problem. Riley Morgan and Derrick was a good one two punch on a Warriors team that improved after the hiring of head coach Simon Ferguson. I thought the Tribe were one of the more improved teams in the second half of the season. Derrick and the Warriors took the 1st place Vees to five games with the final two games going to overtime.
