The Bulldogs are proud to announce their all-decade team as voted on by you the fans.

John Hawthorne

Mitch Oliver & Kurt Gosselin

Keaton Mastrodonato, Mitch MacMillan, and current captain Mitch Deelstra.

Goaltender John Hawthorne led all vote getters with an astounding 71% of ballots coming back with John’s name! Hawthorne was wildly successful in 2 seasons with the Bulldogs appearing in 91 regular season games and 11 more in the playoffs. Last season, Hawthorne posted a 2.95 GAA and a .918 SV %. Hawthorne is currently a freshman at the University of Northern Michigan.

Mitch Oliver spent just 54 games in Bulldogs uniform but made a lasting impression in his short time. The likeable Oliver posted 39 points patrolling the Bulldogs blue line. Oliver currently has 7 assists in 29 games with Lake Superior State University.

Kurt Gosselin appeared in 122 game with the Bulldogs, putting up 20 goals and 38 assists for 58 points. After a four-year NCAA career at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, Gosselin is in his 2nd season with the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones.

Keaton Mastrodonato played in 125 games for the Bulldogs. The Powell River native scored 40 goals and added 54 assists during his BCHL career. In his freshman year with Canisius College, Mastrodonato has lit the lamp 8 times.

Mitch MacMillan simply dazzled Bulldogs fans during his time in Port Alberni. MacMillan posted 87 goals and 138 points in just 104 games. He is the last BCHL player to score 60 goals in a season after putting up 61 goals during the 2009-2010 season. After his 4-year collegiate career came to an end, Mitch returned to Okanagan to begin life in business and begin raising a family.

Mitch Deelstra is the current Bulldogs captain and is committed to play college hockey at Ferris St next season. After joining the Bulldogs last season from Ontario, Deelstra has scored 45 goals and added 36 assists in 112 games with the Bulldogs. Mitch of course has 3 games remaining in his BCHL career, and Bulldogs fans hope to see Deelstra lead the club to it’s first playoff series win since the 2012-2013 season.

Thanks to all the fans who took the time to vote!
