Former Viper Hammond Named CCHA Goaltender Of The Week:

 
Former Vernon Vipers goaltender Andrew Hammond has been named CCHA Goaltender of the week. Hammond who is in his fourth season at Bowling Green University attended the Chicago Blackhawks development camp In July is (4-7-3) with two shutouts and a 2.70 GAA. Hammond played parts of two years in Vernon (2007-2009) after coming over in a trade with the Surrey Eagles during the 2007-08 season. In 52 regular season games with the Vipers Hammond posted a (33-15-1) record recording 6 shutouts.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Senior goaltender Andrew Hammond turned away all 38 shots he faced Saturday night, helping the Falcons to a 3-0 win against No. 17 Niagara. Hammond’s performance marked his second shutout of the season, and sixth of his career. Hammond is now second on Bowling Green’s career shutout list, trailing only Tyler Masters who recorded seven from 1999-03.

Dzingel scored his first career hat trick in a 5-4 loss to Penn State on Saturday. He also finished the weekend +2.

Gladiator Defenseman of the Week

Simon Denis, FSU Jr. (Burnaby, BC)

Denis had a goal and added an assist in a 5-3 loss to No. 11 Cornell on Friday and added an assist in a 6-2 win over Minnesota Duluth on Saturday. He also had three shots on goal and finished +3 on the weekend.

Warrior Goaltender of the Week

Hammond stopped 38 shots in a 3-0 shutout of No. 17 Niagara on Saturday.

Gongshow Rookie of the Week

Brandon Anselmini, FSU

D (Guelph, ON)

Anselmini had two assists in a 5-3 loss to No.11 Cornell on Friday and scored a goal in a 6-2 win over Minnesota Duluth on Saturday. He finished the weekend +1 with two blocks and three shots on goal.
