Blacklock breaks out on Vipers road trip, earns Gongshow POW

Vernon Vipers forward Mason Blacklock has been named the Gongshow BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 20, the league announced Monday.
Blacklock helped the Vipers to two wins in a three-game Vancouver Island road trip as he played his second, third and fourth games with his new club. The White Rock native was named 1st Star with the winning goal and three helpers in a 6-4 win over the Nanaimo Clippers, his former team. He followed that with a goal and an assist and another 1st Star nod in a 3-1 win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
The 18-year-old tied for the BCHL scoring lead for the week with his six points and is now the Vipers top point-getter for the season.
