The Vernon Vipers hockey club would like the announce that they have acquired Mitch VanTeeling from the Virden Oil Capitals of the MJHL in exchange for the Junior A playing rights of Brendan Persley.
Van Teeling is a 19 year old forward who has spent the last two seasons with the Dauphin Kings of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. In 2011-2012 he was second the Kings in points with 66 while scoring 19 times.
Van Teeling was a member of Canada West during the 2010-2011 season along with ex Viper Dylan Walchuk. The product of Brandon Manitoba is scheduled to arrive in Vernon this week and suit up for the season opener on Saturday in Chilliwack versus the Penticton Vees.
The Vipers would like to welcome Mitch to the team and thank Brendan for his time spent here in Vernon
