Former Viper Brodie Lands Tryout Job With Sharks:


Former Vernon Vipers defenceman, Cameron Brodie who helped the Vernon Vipers win the 2009 Royal Bank Cup has landed a tryout job with the NHL San Jose Sharks. Brodie played just one season in Vernon (2008-09) Brodie who is currently playing hockey at UBC played his first game with the Sharks Sunday night at the Young Stars Tournament in Penticton, B.C. as San Jose defeated Anaheim 4-1. In 12 games last year with the UBC Thunderbirds Brodie collected (2-1-3) Brodie’s three UBC teammates defenceman, Max Gordichuk, Ryan Kakoske and goaltender, Matt Boudreau also played with the Vipers. Gordichuk played one season in Vernon (2002-03), Kakoske played two seasons in Vernon (2006-08) while Boudreau played just eight games with the Vipers back in 2004-05.
