Heard vipers sign coach with 1000 NHL game play
If so, likely McAmmond. He played 996 games.

New coach 1000 games nhl experience sounds good. Hope to see a new GM hire. It would be a good move for the Glens as he would still be able to have his input be avoid the headache and make the fans happy.
Another rumor? Is there any truth to this? We can only hope. I am sure another coach is coming but not sure anyone will be hired as the GM. As we all know brother John loves to make all the asinine decisions and will not let a real hockey person show him up.
At the end of the day all we should be hoping for is some form or stability and respect for the players. The players must be allowed to settle into their new hockey environment, must feel valued and be allowed to play to their strengths. Then and only then will we have a respectable team, otherwise it will be just another frustrating year.
There have been so many rumors this summer, who knows what to believe. I’ll believe it when I hear an announcement from the Vipers. Changes and a culture change are needed.
Matt Cooke is the guy
Go to the league site and click on the Vipers' logo at the top of the page to take you to their site. The usual Vipers' communication with their fans.
Should it be Matte Cooke then winning is in his vocabulary. He had won a Stanley cup with Pittsburg penguins and Gold cup with team Canada and he also was head coach of the Newfoundland growlers. So his resume is impressive. Won can be hopeful.
The problem for Matt cooke is going to be the quality of players recruited. You could have scotty bowman coaching but if you haven't recruited ant blue chip players, you're not going to win. Hopefully I'm wrong but there have been a lot of signings by other teams. Unless this team is just recruiting secretly and really good players are excited to sign here after last season it may be a tough transition year.

John hit the nail on the head! Can’t start this late and expect a lot of blue chippers to be available, regardless of the coach. And with all of the guys who left for other leagues, there isn’t much left to trade. Good luck putting a competitive team on the ice.
If there was a new coach coming, wouldn't the Vipers have said they have parted ways with Lomicky and will be accepting resumes for a new head coach? I saw Lomicky at Spring Camp and several people I know see him coming and going from the Vipers office this summer while they walk inside the arena. Just another bs rumor in my mind. Why haven't the Vipers posted something on Matt Cooke?

If these rumors are true, why haven't the Vipers said anything? What's the big secret? So many rumors this summer. If the Vipers haven't said anything John, how do you know this secret information the Vipers are hiding from the world?

Perhaps the scouting staff for the vipers are letting the new recruits about a new coach and maybe a new GM?? This certainly would help attract new talent and build a strong image for the vipes
New Coach or GM? Matt Cooke would be an excellent choice IF and only IF he is allowed to have control. Unfortunately there is still one constant with this organization, the guy who thinks he is Scotty Bowman, the micro manager, his only success is giving this organization a bad reputation. As many of us have already stated there can not be change until a real hockey guy is hired, a guy who is competent and has credibility in the hockey world. There needs to be a culture change so players will feel confident in making the decision to play here. Time will tell but at least we have something positive to consider, if only still a rumor.
I agree with Marty, and I think the journey back to respectability may be a long one. Hopefully it starts soon...
I'm sorry John but it's still a rumor. I've heard that saying before "I have a credible source" someone said the same thing earlier this summer about John Glen gone and it come from a credible source. Where are these so called credible sources getting there information from? What a joke! If the Vipers hired a new coach like Matt Cooke, you don't think they would announce it? That's big news not to say anything and keep it quiet. Just another rumor in my mind. Thanks for the rumor, I'll believe it when the Vipers post some thing
I was told there will be a BIG announcement on Friday but believe it when you hear it
Lomicky told multiple players who requested trades that he was no longer with the team and could not help them. Maybe that’s a ploy to keep guys on the hook in Vernon but that seems pretty underhanded when the supposed goal is to help kids move on to the next level. I believe he’s out and a new coach is pending but that doesn’t help kids who have not been traded or released as requested. The owner needs to move things along for all parties involved. Complete joke at this point.
