Gregory J. Kowal - Obituary - Vernon - Vernon Morning Star
Kowal played three seasons in Vernon from 1982-1985 with the Vernon Lakers. In 141 games with the Vernon Lakers, Kowal collected (74-goals-79-assists-153-points).
The Vernon Lakers were one of seven different team names Vernon's Junior hockey team has had since 1961. The Vernon Lakers were around from 1980-1995 before changing their name to the Vernon Vipers in 1995.

I would like to take this time to send my condolences to Greg's family. I didn't know Greg that well but had met him through work about fifteen plus years ago. We had several conversations over the years but I had no idea Greg played Junior Hockey or played for the Lakers. Greg was very friendly, easy to talk to and treated me well every time we crossed paths. Gone way too soon.
